Elaine Price is the owner of Elaine’s Afternoon Tea LLC, based in Phoenix, AZ. Her company specializes in making high quality, hand crafted English fairy cakes, biscuits (cookies), scones and Irish soda bread in a wide variety of sizes, styles and fantastic flavors, which you can pick and mix to suit your individual taste! She also offers one-of-a-kind, hand-decorated celebration boxes for special occasions!

Elaine was born in Birmingham, the largest city in England outside of London. However, she is probably more Irish than most, as her Mother, Mary was from County Kerry and her Father, Pat was from County Wexford. On trips every year to Ireland as a child, she would watch her grandmother making Irish Soda Bread, so she has a great family recipe up her sleeve!

Elaine trained as a Graphic Designer in London and worked for almost 8 years at Dorling Kindersley Books Ltd in Covent Garden, as a Designer and Project Art Editor, before going freelance for a year.

In 2001 she changed careers and became a Teacher! She taught Information and Communication Technology, Art and Design, to children aged 11-17 for over 9 years.

Elaine found both her careers in Publishing and in Teaching immensely satisfying and in fact life-changing.

She left Teaching the day before she moved to America in April 2010, to join her fiancé, John, who she married that same month!

Elaine fell in love, not only with John, but also with Phoenix, Arizona and the USA when she visited her brother, Colin in 2008! Elaine also has five American cousins and an Aunt in the USA.

In creating her bakery business, (an idea she’d had for quite a while) Elaine has brought together all of her artistic, design and organizational skills to create, not just ‘something nice to munch on’, but an experience, not easily forgotten! Her aim is to make people sweeter!

To that end, Elaine not only bakes great-tasting and eye-catching goodies, but also presents her delightful desserts in unique and colorful boxes and packaging, to suit the occasion. She is motivated by the positive feedback she receives. Her satisfaction comes from the smiles she sees on her customer’s faces!

If you want to try something different for your next celebration, check out her website and her sweet treats for yourself!

I promote, advertise and link to the Irish Network Phoenix on my website, through my blog, advertising space and in my text. I also include one of our cards in each box ordered by non-members. I am grateful to members who provide me with testimonials and I give them a link to their websites in the text on my site, as I have done with Donna, Patrick, Mary, Karen and others.

Also, I have business card advertising space on my website for members/other businesses at $50 per year.

    Thanks, Elaine.

Have you ever thought of what it takes to make a group grow?  Studies have always shown that 10% of the people in any given group will do 90% of the work.  Have you ever thought about where you fit into that statistic?  Take some time out of your busy day, to ponder what you ways you can help a group to grow.

Hi and welcome to the new website.  This first blog post is dedicated to the hard efforts of past ERIN members.  Here we will ask local Irish merchants to be guest bloggers, before we have lunches etc at their establishments.  If anyone would like to submit a blog, please email Donna at donna@celtic-bella.com.  This space will also be used to highlight members contributions to the organization and to the community at large.
